Career counseling is for the customer thinking about their place in the working life or embarking on a new career: changing careers or replacing an out-of-date degree with a new one.

The service’s purpose is to help the customer think about their interests, goals, own competence, and strengths, and to connect this information to different educational and occupational options. The goal is to clarify which business the customer wants to aim at and how.

Based on the customer’s situation, career counseling is offered by job agents, career counselors and a vocational psychologist. Career counseling for those under thirty years of age happens in Joensuu’s Ohjaamo.

Are you feeling nervous about presenting yourself, social situations, or speaking in a group? Do you want an opportunity to deepen your self-knowledge and to practice social skills? Come along to the Nervousness in Control group!

Nervousness in Control groups are held both in Luotsi (for over 30 years) and in Ohjaamo (for under 30 years).

What to expect?

• The themes are managed by using preliminary assignments, exercises, and conversations in pairs and in a group.
• Body awareness, breathing, and calming exercises.
• Let’s safely step just a bit outside our own comfort zone to reinforce the feeling of our own survival.

Luotsi’s Senni service is for the Joensuu citizens with a heading not straight toward education or the labor market. Instead, preceding that, there is a need to clarify matters regarding work ability and situation in life, for instance.

In the individual guidance, we take a wide look into the factors with an impact on work ability and ability to function together with a service network.  The customer is clarified on the next step toward working life, rehabilitation, education, or other suitable service.

The start to the future – do you want to brighten your future prospects?

Future Coaching is aimed at adults of all ages in need of guidance, coaching, and support for the challenges of daily life. The purpose of Future Coaching is to prevent exclusion and to support the customer’s control of their daily life skills. Personalized, intensive coaching period is meant to support and enhance the customer’s positive life management development, to receive support for taking care of personal affairs, and to strengthen self-esteem and skills to take care of yourself.

The service is carried out together with the coaching house Anakom, and you can get directed to it through your job agent.

Is a missing hygiene passport or occupational safety card slowing down your employment?

The TE services are the primary service buyer for cards if the customer is in need of qualification or card training for employment or strengthening their competence. If, for some reason, it is not possible to get the card from the TE services, we at Luotsi can use discretion to grant a qualification and card training to our customers.

Interested in organizational work?

We are also tightly collaborating with organizational employment. The customer can be employed to an association together with Luotsi and North Karelian Society for Social Security’s Koitto service. In this case, the customer must have a right to pay subsidy. Through organizational employment, the jobs can also be tailored to the needs of the customer and the association.

Making good use of social media for job-seeking and highlighting your own competence is an important part of the working life today, and the advantages of vocational networking in planning your own career are indisputable.

Creating and maintaining an interesting LinkedIn profile that serves your own goals may seem arduous and complicated, however. What should a LinkedIn profile contain and how should LinkedIn be used to benefit from it as much as possible?

Organized by Luotsi, LinkedIn coaching is aimed at the customers with basic social media skills and a motivation to expand their own vocational network to LinkedIn. The service lets the customer create their own LinkedIn profile with professional guidance, while gaining hints for its active use to progress their career. The outcome of the coaching is for the customer to have an understanding of LinkedIn’s range of uses and etiquette, a practical profile and competence and qualifications to use it.

The module consists of remote studying, small-group counseling, and individual coaching. Your own job agent guides you to the coaching.

Interpretation services can be used to support customer work in service guidance situations. The Interpreter service is available to customers as on-site interpretation or as liaison interpretation by phone/video interpretation based on the customer’s case. Simultaneous interpretation of sign languages is also available on the spot or by video interpretation.

When there comes a time in the customer’s life when their reserves of strength are not enough, it is well and good to talk things through with a professional. The therapy service is for unburdening life’s crises and anxiety through conversation. The customers have a chance to receive therapy or evaluation service to offload anxiety and a life-facing crisis.

The therapy service is optional for customers. There is a maximum of three appointments per customer. Offered by Luotsi, the therapy service does not replace customer’s already existing therapy or other corresponding therapeutic relationship.

When unemployment drags on, there are options!

Luotsi’s Lisbet service is meant for the local government pilot’s customers of Joensuu, whose unemployment have prolonged with no progress toward finding a job in the open job market. In the service, the customer can get a job agent to help them in figuring out different opportunities for moving to working life.
