We want to make moving to Joensuu and settling down here as easy as possible.
That’s why we have created a new service - the Moving Agent - which provides personal guidance in all things Joensuu. We especially want to serve families who are thinking about moving here but are not sure how to go about finding work for one of the spouses, choosing the right neighbourhood to live in, or searching for schools and hobbies for the kids.

In addition to the Moving Agent, international professionals can rely on International House Joensuu, which offers free advice on how to apply for residence and work permits, and handles integration services for immigrants.

International House Joensuu
International House Joensuu offers help and support to new Joensuu residents who have moved to the city from abroad. We want to make you and your family feel welcome and help you get settled.
We provide personal consulting and guidance in various questions related to smooth everyday life. In addition, we offer help with questions related to residence permits, family reunification, travel documents and citizenship. We also organise Finnish language courses. Our services are free of charge. Our services are available in Finnish, English and Russian. For other languages, we use interpreting services.

Meet the people
A city is as good as the people who live in it, and for anyone moving to Joensuu, it’s the residents who make the place feel like home. The easiest way to meet us is to get out there - all you need to do is tell us you’re new in town. You can meet new people through different hobbies, courses and other activities.
