Who are the Business Whisperers?

The Business Whisperers are a group of experts who contact businesses on behalf of the city of Joensuu. Participating in the campaign are Business Joensuu Oy, the city of Joensuu/Luotsi Joensuu, Pohjois-Karjalan Yrittäjät ry, Joensuun Yrittäjät ry, the North Karelia Chamber of Commerce and the North Karelia employment office.

The Whisperers contact businesses on campaign weeks by phone and remote connection, but will also visit businesses in person in the Joensuu area.

During the campaign weeks, we arrange coffee and lunch events for businesses where the Business Whisperers will be available for meeting. You can look up the exact dates and locations on the event calendar.

Why are Business Whisperers needed?

Merely listening to entrepreneurs about their challenges, hopes and worries is not enough – we strive to also find potential solutions and suitable services to address the issues. Successful businesses create a vigorous Joensuu: work and a better life for everyone. The city of Joensuu implements its strategy by investing in dynamism, entrepreneurship and employment. Business Joensuu and Luotsi Joensuu are working hard towards this goal.

Business Whisperers 2022

The Business Whisperers are back in autumn 2022 to help businesses in matters of growth and development, staffing, the business environment, the entrepreneur’s well-being, education, or planning acquisitions. The whisperers are also interested to hear general feedback about running a business, and will pass it on to the policy-makers.

The goal of the campaign starting on week 35 is to listen and to give straightforward help, free of charge, to local businesses in different phases of their operation. Feel free to contact the Business Whisperers if your business is in need of any of the following:

• skilled labor
• training for your staff
• functional premises
• help with planning investments and investigating possibilities for public funding
• growth coaching
• a transfer to the next generation or a successor to your business
• information about competitive tendering for public projects
• help with digital development
• support for well-being
