Sports services re-opened

Many of us have waited long for the City’s sports facilities to open this spring. Now, the Joensuu Areena, training ice rinks, the Rantakylä swimming pool, gyms in rural areas and the indoor exercise areas of the city centre and rural areas with hours booked in advance are being re-opened. The locker rooms and toilets of outdoor sports facilities and recreation centres are also open and it is possible to make reservations for the Vekarus lodge.

All indoor exercise areas are only available with an advance reservation, apart from the gyms of rural areas. Indoor exercise areas and holders of regular reservations will be provided with the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare’s guidelines on hand and cough hygiene and adequate safety distances. Hand sanitiser is also made available whenever possible. However, it is not possible to wash your hands at every location, so it is important to wash your hands before arriving at a location.

Information about any possible area-specific restrictions or instructions will be announced separately at a later date.
