Accessibility statement
This accessibility statement applies to the site www.joensuu.fi.
The Act on the Provision of Digital Services, which stipulates that public online services must be accessible, is applied to the service.
Level A and AA criteria of WCAG 2.1 accessibility requirements have been followed in the design and implementation of the website. The website has been published on 27th of February 2019.
The online service meets mostly the accessibility requirements. The accessibility of the online service has been evaluated by Avaava Digital Oy in 2019.
This accessibility statement has been updated on 22nd of July 2024.
Shortcomings observed in the online service
Semantic headline structure
H1–H4 tags used in headlines are missing levels, since the anchor/jump links of the site are implemented as H2-headlines and non-anchor/jump links are implemented as H3-headlines. Because of this, the next headline following H1-headline is either H2 or H3.
Calendar embedding
Google Calendar embedded on the website www.joensuu.fi/ohjaamo doesn’t meet accessibility requirements.
Video content
Meetings of the City Council is streamed live in YouTube in address www.youtube.com/joensuunkaupunki. The meetings can be watched also afterwards in the same address. The live streamings or recordings of the Council’s meetings aren’t subtitled because this would constitute an unacceptable burden. Other videos published by the City are subtitled. The agendas and decisions of the City Council’s meetings can be read online: Read agendas and minutes (in Finnish)
PDF files
All the PDF files aren’t yet accessible.
Images lack alternative descriptions
The alt text is missing from some of the images.
Text contrast does not meet minimum requirements
In some elements, text contrast does not meet the minimum requirements. These can be in the page numbers of various listings.
The iFrame element does not have an accessible name
Embedded google maps does not have an accessible name.
