The City of Joensuu has launched the new Visit Joensuu tourism website. Interesting sights, services and companies in Joensuu and the neighbouring areas have been gathered on the site. You can make new discoveries and deepen your knowledge of the mindscape of a Joensuu resident on the page. There are pictures to boost the browsing and by looking at the pictures, you can see the familiar places in Joensuu in a new light.

The essential part of the site is to help travellers find the interesting services and sights of Joensuu. For example, you can book a table at a restaurant, a canoeing trip and look for events in the area on Visit Joensuu.

– Joensuu hasn’t had a whole city-wide tourism website before. Now we can introduce the different services in the city from small boutiques to events, from lunch restaurants to rock bars. Tourism holds significant economic potential for the region. Now we are also going into a higher gear, says the City of Joensuu’s Marketing Director Markku Pyykkönen.

– We have gotten a delightful amount of tourism service providers on the site, but there is still room for more. Being on the tourism site is free, Pyykkönen reminds.
In the beginning, the site will only be available in Finnish, but it will soon be available also in English and Russian.
