During the weekend, three new coronavirus infections were detected in the Siun sote area, which were announced Sunday, 23 August. Based on the infections, one group from the Joensuu Vesikkopuisto kindergarten was quarantined. Based on the retest carried out by Siun sote, the quarantine will be lifted, as the retest has come out negative. Retesting was routinely taken after the initial test results were close to the cut-off values.

– We apologize to the children, families and staff of Vesikkopuisto kindergarten for the difficulty caused by the quarantine, but we are relieved that there were no infections in the kindergarten. This rapid release from quarantine is positive news for all of us, says the service director of the city of Joensuu, Juhani Junnilainen.

Siun sote has been in direct contact with all persons quarantined during the weekend. The city of Joensuu will announce the release of quarantine via Daisy. The activities of all groups in the Vesikkopuisto kindergarten will continue as normal.
