The Government of Finland: All events of over 500 participants will be cancelled

Arrangements changed for the BMW IBU World Cup Biathlon Kontiolahti. The government of Finland announced on the 12th of March that all events with over 500 participants will be cancelled for a set period of time. Due to the policy the BWM IBU World Cup Biathlon Kontiolahti will be closed from the audience.

The Government of Finland announced on Thursday the 12th of March of the policy to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus. According to the announcement, the Regional State Administrative of Finland will give the final directions on the issue.

The Government of Finland announced on the policy that all events with over 500 participants will be cancelled for a set period of time.

According to this new policy:

  • Thursday’s competition - Men’s Sprint on 12th of March at 16:30 will be held without an audience.
  • The event organizer will seek for a solution with the Regional State Administrative of Finland, to allow all the competitions, from Friday to Sunday, to be held without an audience. The only people attending to the event aside from the biathletes will be the event staff, leaving the final number of participants under 500.
  • The organizer will inform about ticket return policies as soon as possible, by the end of the next week (22nd of March) at the latest.
