Business whisperers will be there once more to help entrepreneurs this autumn. They will be providing assistance with topics such as growth and development, personnel matters, operating environment, entrepreneurs’ coping, training, or the planning of acquisitions.

Joensuu wants to be Finland’s most business-friendly city in its size class; a good place to be an entrepreneur and grow. The aim of the campaign, launched at the turn of August and September, is to help local companies at different stages of their business activities easily and free of charge.

– During the campaign, we will be reaching out to companies by text message and telephone for example, but we encourage entrepreneurs to contact the business whisperers of their own accord without hesitation. We strive to answer questions promptly; if necessary, we can direct the entrepreneur to the right expert or forward service requests to the City of Joensuu. For example, if an entrepreneur is finding it challenging to find skilled workers or would like to reflect on their growth prospects or coping, there is no need for them to do it alone, explains Marjatta Rummukainen, Coaching Manager at Joensuu employment services, participating in the whisper campaign for the third time already.

During last autumn’s campaign, which was mostly implemented remotely, business whisperers collected more than 300 service requests or instances of feedback from entrepreneurs. The whisperers, who are representatives of organisations involved in the business whisperer campaign, are paired in twos to match companies’ needs as far as possible. The meetings – which can also be carried out remotely – aim for a relaxed atmosphere while being concise and factual, focusing on the needs of the entrepreneurs.

The business whisperer campaign will be organised in three parts this autumn.

Week of 30 August to 5 September in Eno, Uimaharju, Pyhäselkä, Reijola, Tuupovaara, Kiihtelysvaara and Heinävaara
Week of 4 to 10 October in the Joensuu grid plan area and industrial area
Week of 8 to 14 November in other areas of Joensuu
