Joensuu now has 87 bicycles for rent provided for rent by Tampere-based company Easybike. The bikes are stationed at 16 bicycle parking points around Joensuu. As well as the city centre, locations include the University, the Science Park, Penttilä and Prisma.

To rent a bike, the user needs a smart phone app, which is available in Finnish and English. Start by checking the locations of bicycle parking points and available bikes with the app.

The normal charge is 1 euro for every 30 minutes or part thereof, while students pay half price. Season tickets are also available.

The trial will end towards the end of 2019.
