Data Sets
Alho and Spencer: Statistical Demography and Forecasting contains several illustrative data sets and numerical exercises. A large proportion is provided here for the use of the readers.
Some conventions:
* the data are in text files
* some motivation is provided for each
example
* an analysis strategy is suggested for each example
* the source
of the data is given for each data set, when it can be clearly identified.
We try to make sure the data as entered are correct. In case you detect errors, we would be grateful for being informed so as to be able to correct them.
