The purpose of the Langnet databank of supervision
resources is to highlight the wide-ranging expertise offered by
the extensive pool of Langnet supervisors. Information relevant
to Langnet supervisors in their capacity as supervisors of doctoral
dissertations will be made available in the Langnet databank. This
will provide doctoral students with easy access to information about
where they can find an expert in a certain method or language.
The databank will be updated on the basis of information
provided by the supervisors themselves. The form for submitting
and/or updating information can be found here.

of the personal data file and a description
of how the data file has been secured (PDF files
in Finnish).
According to the Exucutive Board's decision (March
22, 2010), the Langnet supervisor pool will consist only of supervisors
who are employed by a Finnish university, speak Finnish, and have
an understanding of the Finnish research environment. They have
the rights and responsibilites referred to in the operational manual
that concern Langnet. Foreign supervisors of Langnet students do
not, principally, belong to the pool of supervisors, but are automatically
entered in the List
of foreign supervisors. The people on this list
do not have the rights and responsibilities those who belong to
the Langnet pool proper do.
