ENO was founded by teacher Mr Mika Vanhanen who has been coordinator since the beginning 2000. He works as a teacher in the city of Joensuu. ENO teacher Mr Urpo Ahlholm is a vice-coordinator and plans the programme with Mr Vanhanen.

ENO programme was firstly administrated by the municipality of Eno (2000-2003) and then it moved to the city of Joensuu (2003 - 2008).

ENO Association was founded in 2009 to support the activities in the programme. Organisational model is currently under construction.

There are currently ENO activities in 150 countries. We have national coordinators in each country and national secretaries in some of them, see the list here.

Country coordinators spread ENO activities in their countries and translate material into their mother languages. ENO teachers around the world help in translating the activities into different languages. They have made separate national ENO websites at least in India, Iran and Georgia.
