The Defence Forces will organize a free event for the whole family at Joensuu’s market square and at Ilosaari as a part of its national summer tour.

The Defence Forces’ public events traditionally involve a equipment dispay where the audience has an opportunity to see the equipment that the Defence Forces use.

The Finnish Army’s equipment will be on display at the market square on June 7 at 12:00-6:30 p.m. The square will also have information points where you can learn about the Defence Forces as an employer, compulsory military service and defence operations. There will also be a stand selling legendary doughnuts and coffee.

The summer tour’s concert will be held on the same evening at Ilosaari at 6:00-9:00 p.m. The performers at the concert will be the Air Force Big Band with Heikki Silvennoinen as the soloist, the Dragoon Band and Souls of Women trio as well as the Conscript Band’s Show Band.

Please arrive at Ilosaari by foot or bicycle due to limited parking places.

The event is organized by the Defence Forces’ shared service centre in cooperation with the city of Joensuu.
