Transportation from the Joensuu
airport
There will be an airport bus available after each flight from
the airport to the centre of Joensuu. (The fee is 5 euros.) The
destination of the airport bus is the Hotel Kimmel, and additionally
the bus will stop near the Hotel Aada, Hostel Matkakoti Aaro,
Summer Hotel Elli and Scouts' Youth Hostel, if necessary.
A CMFT representative will be available at the airport on Sunday
June 12 after each arriving flight from Helsinki, as well as after
the morning flight arriving on Monday June 13 at 7:10 a.m. The representative
will be present in the airport bus.
Transportation from the Joensuu railway station
There will be a CMFT bus transportation from the railway station
of Joensuu to the following hotels on Sunday June 12 and on Monday
June 13: Hotel Aada, Hostel Matkakoti Aaro, Summer Hotel Elli
and Scouts' Youth Hostel. Hotel Kimmel is just
across the street from the railway station. The bus leaves the railway
station at 3:00 p.m., 6:15 p.m., 9:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. on Sunday,
and 7:00 a.m. on Monday morning. A CMFT representative will be available
at the railway station for these train arrivals.
Transportation from the hotels to the conference venue
There will be a special CMFT bus going from each of the above hotels
to the conference venue between June 13 to 17. Buses will start
from the Summer Hotel Elli at 8:00, 8:15 and 8:30 in the mornings
and then continue to the other hotels in the following order: Hostel
Aaro - Hotel Aada - Hotel Kimmel - The conference venue. Completing
the full circle will take approximately 30 minutes. A bus from Scouts'
Youth Hostel will be going to the conference venue at 8:00 each
morning.
The CMFT buses will return back from the conference venue to the
hotels at 6:15 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. On Wednesday
there will be no bus transportation from the conference venue to
the hotels due to the excursion to Jakokoski. On Friday there will
be a bus going to the hotels at 5:00 p.m.
Details concerning the transportation to the reception in the Joensuu
Art Museum on Monday at 7:30 p.m. can be found in the printed conference
program.
Transportation to the airport after the conference
In addition to the
standard airport bus service, there will be a CMFT bus going
directly from the conference venue to the airport on Friday at 4:45
p.m. and at 8:40 p.m after the conference dinner. The first bus
will arrive at the airport in time for the 5:35 p.m. flight to Helsinki,
while the second bus will be in time for the 9:30 p.m. flight to
Helsinki.
Transportation to the railway station after the conference
Details will be announced during the conference.

expences caused by health problems of participants, accidents not
being fault of the organizers etc.
Conference participants from EU-countries may obtain the necessary
care to acute health problems by presenting European Health Insurance
Card.
If you feel it necessary, please make your own travel insurance
arrangements.
Weather in June:
Average daily maximum, resp. minimum, temperature in Joensuu
in the middle of June has been around +17°C, resp. +9°C.
Average monthly precipitation in June has been about 50 mm.
Of course, substantial variation in daily weather conditions is
always possible.
You should perhaps note that there will be hardly no darkness in
the night at all in June. The approximate sunset time in Joensuu
(according to the daylight time) around June 15 is 11:00 p.m.,
and the sun rises again at 3:00 a.m.
